Instructions for Students

All 8th grade students should arrive to Toll by no later than 7:45am on Promotion day. Students should be dressed in their gowns and should not be carrying any personal items including cell phones. Students should meet their 1st period teacher at their designated spot near the gym. Only Toll staff and promoting students are allowed in this area prior to the ceremony.

Boys are encouraged to wear a dress shirt and a tie with dark pants. Girls should not wear shirts or dresses with puffy sleeves or skirts as they do not look good under the gown. Low-heeled shoes are encouraged. Dress code guidelines regarding spaghetti straps, bare midriffs and low cut tops apply. Leis or other items cannot be worn over the gown during the ceremony.

Ceremony Reminders

Guests will not be allowed to hold balloons during the ceremony. Balloons will be held at the entrance for pickup after promotion. Coffee, water, flowers and keepsakes will be sold to benefit our PTA at Promotion (please see attached order form).

Grad Images will be taking professional pictures of students as they receive their certificates on stage. Purchase information is included with Promotion tickets.

Gown Returns and Donations

Students with loaner gowns must return them to the collection boxes on the blacktop after the Promotion ceremony. We will also be taking donations for gowns to use in the future. If students do not choose to keep their gowns they may donate them after the ceremony.

Special thanks to Toll’s PTA and Foundation for supporting our students with water, soda and treats during Tollchella and with bottles of water during Promotion practice!
