Navy Seals teachers are veteran and new teachers who are so excited about their profession and enjoy teaching and doing extra-curricular activities.
Mr. Vince Underwood has been teaching science at Toll for 14 years. He is the sponsor and head chaperone of Toll’s 10th annual field trip to Yosemite National Park for 8th grade students. He is also the head coach of Toll’s award winning Science Olympiad team. He teaches science and thinks that science is cool and fun.
Mrs. Angie Mathevosian has been teaching at Toll for 10 years. She teaches English/ELD and she believes that teaching is the most rewarding job in the world. She participated in Project Harmony grant last year and traveled to Armenia to plan a yearlong lesson with a teacher partner in Armenia. This year she is sponsoring Armenian Club and is hoping to work collaboratively with Hoover High Armenian Club. She is ELD Dept. chair and currently she studies Spanish.
Mr. Edgar Melik-Stepanian is a new teacher at Toll. He teaches World History. He attended Toll Middle School and graduated from Hoover High School in 2000. He earned his bachelor’s degree in history and journalism from Cal State Northridge in 2005. A year later, he received his teaching credentials in social studies
Ms. Pamela Collins teaches science. She is a military wife who has moved all around America for the last 20 years. She has taught science in six different middle schools in four different states over the years. As her husband retires from the Marine Corps, they plan to settle down in Burbank, and enjoy staying put for a while.
Mrs. Kho has been teaching at Toll for 10 years. She teaches 7th and 8th grade English. She belongs to the Gryphon and Navy Seals Cores. She enjoys teaching as a profession. She is looking forward to having a great school year.
