Dr. Crowther's most recent e-bulletin letter to Toll families

Good Evening Titans,

This is Dr. Crowther with announcements for the week of March 6, 2017. Please note that due to the close proximity to last week's Open House, we are moving Tuesday's scheduled Parent CHAT meeting to the following Tuesday, March 14th.

Note that this month we continue to celebrate our diversity of diversities here at Toll with recognition of National Women's History Month. Although women now make-up a slight majority of all Americans and although statistically they are obtaining college degrees at a higher rate than men, they have long been an underrepresented minority group. We are using our morning announcements to raise awareness of influential women who have had an impact on our society.

Attention current 6th grade parents. State law requires all students entering 7th grade to provide proof of a whooping cough booster, also called "TDAP." Please take care of this vaccination ASAP as students may not start 7th grade without proof of this vaccination, this includes summer enrollment. Additionally, there are no conditional enrollments nor are personal belief exemptions permitted for this vaccination. Schedule with your doctor's office, or, for those who do not have health insurance the TDAP is available at the Glendale Health Center at 501 North Glendale Avenue. Thank you.

Toll Middle School needs your help as we compete for $20,000 for STEAM a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. You can vote once per day through March 24th as long as you are 18 or older. You can vote at The top 4 schools in our category will earn this grant. As of Saturday morning we were in 6th place. If everyone receiving this message commits to voting once a day until the end the Titans have a very good shot at receiving these funds. Thank you for your support.

Parents, counselors have begun visits with cores to discuss registration for next year. Be sure to review course options with your son or daughter in the days ahead. They will register online as well as submit a hardcopy to the counseling office.

The PTA's annual Founder's Day is March 16th right after school in the Malt Shop. Come and support some of our parents, teachers and staff who will be recognized. Also, note our annual Career Fair is coming March 30th as part of several 8th graders' Gold Project. We hope all Titans will attend.

Those are the announcements for the week Titans; enjoy the first full week of March that lies ahead.
